At Jayride, we're committed to protecting the privacy of our users. We will never sell or commercially redistribute user information, and will to the best of our ability keep confidential user information private.

Jayride allows a user the ability (within limits) to determine what information they would like Jayride to keep private, or make public. The following discloses how information is collected and used on Jayride.

Personal information and demographics

Jayride does not collect any personally identifiable information about any user (such as name, address, phone number, or e-mail address), unless the user actively provides this by filling out forms.

However, Jayride may obtain some types of non-personally identifiable information about a user (such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and the address of the web site that referred the user to Jayride).

This information is collected for use in providing potential advertisers with statistics, to administer the web site, and to track abusive users.

Submitting information

A user who submits information to Jayride will be providing this information for online publishing. Any information submitted by a user may be listed on the web site and should be considered public. This includes personal information required for the listing of transport, which may include a user's telephone number and physical address. All care will be taken to conceal the user's physical address but it cannot be guaranteed.

Jayride will never publicly list any user's "name", but may list a user's alias or "user name". Jayride will never list any user's email address unless said user completes a form to message another user, in which instance their email address will be included as part of the message.

Distribution of information for safety purposes

Jayride reserves the right to distribute the personal information of any user (including name, address, and other personally identifiable information) solely non-commercially to police or other authorities, in any instance where Jayride's management has concerns relating to the safety of said user, or the safety of any other Jayride user.

Searching information

Searching on Jayride does not require a user to provide any personal information.

Searches and the options related to those searches may be stored for statistical use. This is non-personally identifiable information used to enhance and administer the web site.

Cookies

Some of the features on Jayride require the use of cookies. These cookies may be used to remember a user's preferences and log in details for next time they visit.

Jayride contains links to other sites. Jayride will not be held responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites.

User-contributed content

Jayride contains user-contributed content such as member profiles and ride information.

Whilst Jayride will occasionally moderate user contributions we will not be held responsible this content, nor can we vouch for its accuracy or usability.

Third-party advertising

Jayride may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads. These companies may use information (not including a user's name, address, email address or telephone number) about a user's visit to this and other web sites in order to provide advertisements on this site and other sites about goods and services that may be of interest to the user.
